Such a shame

I used to enjoy watching him and Joe Wilkinson egg each other on...you could tell it was a genuine mutual appreciation society between them. They would try and see who could make Jimmy Carr corpse and lose his shit first!

He looked in actual pain he was laughing so much to Wilkinson poem.

To be fair, that poem was unbelievably funny

His reaction to the Joe Wilkinson train station poem always cracks me up, worth a watch if you’ve not seen it

Re: Sean Lock has told his last joke
The challenging wank line is brilliant, but one of my favourite moments of his is actually just his reaction when Jimmy Carr does the Susie Dent/Glory holes joke

Totally loses it, it’s brilliant

Genuinely sad about this. A proper funny guy, who may have had a stage persona of being grumpy whilst smiling but didn’t just rely on that. Really funny in everything I’ve seen him on, his stand up is great and he’s consistently the best on any panel show

As others have said, seems to be a rarity not just on here but everywhere that there is unanimous praise for him.

Far too young to be taken and actually quite sad for him and his family that he never got to see just how popular and well liked he was - not that that would have bothered him, I guess!

Good thread this.

He made me laugh, what I saw of him.

RIP

Loved his line on why NASA killed Michael Jackson. Ruined by Mitchell at the end trying and failing to be as funny.

Very unusual indeed to see mostly unanimous praise on here for someone.

Re: Sean Lock has told his last joke
I think Sean Lock was stealth edgy, I dont think you could call him a safe comedian just because he looked like a taxi driver. He just didn't feel the need to really over-try to shock people like Hicks and Boyle. Sad that he's gone.

When someone told me he'd died, I immediately got on my phone and instinctively checked WHO to see if it was true. Not the bbc or Sky news, WHO. Weird.

I have been meaning to watch 15 Stories High for years. The concept sounds interesting. It looks like all the shows are on Youtube, so will check them out at some point.

As for Sean Lock's passing. Very sad. I have never been a massive fan, as I find the whole panel show shtick rather boring and bland. I guess he is mildly amusing in parts, but find his style pretty 'safe' and 'middle of the road'. I prefer stand up comics with real edge to them like the late Bill Hicks, early Frankie Boyle etc.

I’m terms of his last joke, Harry Hill mentioned this in his tribute to him:

He took his illness in typically dry style. I heard he was in a hospice for a bit of a rest. I called him up. “Wow!” I said. “A hospice, what’s that like?” “It’s OK,” he said “… and the sex is amazing.”

If they've got any sense it will be the episode with the seal clubbing, rectum of the year, challenging wank AND carrot in a box. He was on absolute fire that episode.

He has a interesting balance what I saw of him.

He was edgy enough to be actually funny but never attacked anyone or any one thing consistently enough to get either old or really mean.

The Rachel Riley beard bit, you can see he felt a bit bad after but it was funny so he said it and she took it as such.

Re: Sean Lock has told his last joke
I can't recollect a celeb RIP thread on here that hasn't generated at least one "never heard of him" or "not fussed, thought he was a cunt" remark.

I'd say it's a mark of this fella that WHO is unanimous in it's praise

One his lines I saw this morning:

"When I die, I don't want to be buried, I think I want to be fly-tipped so even when I'm dead, I'm still pissing people off"
